Removing the oval Ford Logo from the Trunk

Keep in mind that when you remove those beautiful cheap plastic " ThunderbirdLX " trunk emblems, you'll have 2 beautiful 1/8 -1/4" holes to fill from the Ford logo. Here is how to fix that:

  • Use a nife, razor or a fishing line to cut thru the aadhesive/foam backing
  • Use 'Goo-gone' or some other adhesive remover and a fingernail to clean up the area
  • Cover the back of the hole with self-stick metal reinforced mesh (it comes with some Bondo kits). You can get behind the holes thru access slots in the trunklid.
  • Use some bondo, spot filler, Ford touchup paint, 1200 grit sandpaper, polishing compound, wax, and a whole weekend to fill these holes holes.
Now, just watch people try to guess what kind of car just flew by.......
