Removing decals (dealer stickers, etc.) |

|
Don't you just hate it sometimes when the dealer you just got the car from puts his ugly sticker on the back of your trunk? Or if you got the car that has vinyl stripes running through the whole car? Or maybe you have any other ugly decals on the body of your car?
If YES, here are tips on how to safely remove all of them from your car.
1. One of the ways is to use a Wax Remover/Pre Cleaner. It is generally used to clean off paint before sanding/repainting. Any
real paint shop should sell you a pint or so. The remover attacks the
adhesive & allows them to be pulled off fairly easily. I could see the use of a hair dryer or heated garage to help. Of course, you will have to re-wax the area effected (it IS wax remover). You can also use a drill-attachment wheel that would remove the sticker without gouging the paint. jeffdillman@hotmail.com
2. You should get it started w/ your fingernail, then try to keep the whole thing intact. If it the laminate breaks away from the base, start at another corner. You'll be able to get it all off that way. Then go to the hardware store & buy some acetone, put it on a rag & rub the affected area. The chemical will break down the adhesive. Wax it promptly. nelson1990@aol.com
