Spark Plugs & Wires Resistance

The ignition system (DIS) like other ignition systems work better with lower resistance wires. The 8.5mm - 10mm Magnacor wires work very well and the wire resistance is around 3,000 ohms per foot. Your stock Ford wires will have around 9,000 ohms per foot. The aftermarket wires also have a limited lifetime warranty, Ford wires only have a 12mo/12K.

Brand prefered:
If you have a V8 engine, specialists prefer to use Autolite 5143 or NGK TR5s. Don't use Bosch or SplitFire plugs - They're NO GOOD for nothing.

Gap prefered:
If you're not gonna be juicing it, you should gap the plugs at the stock setting (.053-.055). However, if you want bigger and better spark go for the .044.

Hor or Cold Plugs?
To determine whether to use hot or cold plugs is how they read.
A black or soot covered plug is too cold,or running too rich.
A white, blistered, chalky plug is too hot, running too lean.
For low speed city driving use cooler plugs.
For high speed highway driving use a little hotter plugs.
That's the basic rule, but a lot of other things should be taken into consideration.Timing, compression, fuel grade, pressure, plug gap,the list goes on.
