Here are some DYNO results of a few Supercharger Units known to work on the MN12 cars.
Test vehicle #1: Allen Engine Development installation vehicle - '96 T-Bird. Modifications; AED blower @ 6-psi and Borla cat-back exhaust.
Test vehicle #2: Kenny Brown installation on a '97 T-Bird using a Vortech S-Trim supercharger @ 8-psi of boost. Modifications; K&N conical filter, SVO 70mm throttle body, custom cat-back exhaust,
shift improver kit, and 3.73:1 gears.
Test vehicle #3: '94 T-Bird with AED blower @ 6-psi, K&N filter, no silencer, C&L 73mm MAF, SVO 70mm throttle body, custom transmission upgrades and Borla cat-back exhaust. 250.2 RWHP; 306.6 lbs.-ft. of torque
3,000 rpm Test:
- AED '96 @ 3,000 rpm...153 RWHP and 267 lbs.-ft. of torque
- KB '97 @ 3,000 rpm...143.2 RWHP and 250.8 lbs.-ft. of torque
- AED '95 @ 3,000 rpm...N/A
3,500 rpm Test:
- AED '96 @ 3,500 rpm...171 RWHP @ 256 lbs.-ft. of torque
- KB '97 @ 3,500 rpm...166.7 RWHP @ 250.1 lbs.-ft. of torque.
- AED '95 @ 3,500 rpm...177 RWHP and 265.1 lbs.-ft. of torque.
4,000 rpm Test:
- AED '96 @ 4,000 rpm...190 RWHP and 250 lbs.-ft. of torque.
- KB '97 @ 4,000 rpm...180.8 RWHP and 237.4 lbs.-ft. of torque.
- AED '95 @ 4,000 rpm...220 RWHP and 287.8 lbs.-ft. of torque.
4,500 rpm Test:
- AED '96 @ 4,500 rpm...215 RWHP and 250 lbs.-ft. of torque.
- KB '97 @ 4,500 rpm...196 RWHP and 228.7 lbs.-ft. of torque.
- AED '95 @ 4,500 rpm...230 RWHP and 268.3 lbs.-ft. of torque.
5,000 rpm Test:
- AED '96 @ 5,000 rpm...220 RWHP and 232 lbs.-ft. of torque.
- KB '97 @ 5,000 rpm...214.8 RWHP and 225.7 lbs.-ft. of torque.
- AED '95 @ 5,000 rpm...235 RWHP and 262.2 lbs.-ft. of torque
5,500 rpm Test:
- AED '96 @ 5,500 rpm...239 RWHP and 229 lbs.-ft. of torque
- AED '95 @ 5,300 rpm...250.2 RWHP and 257.2 lbs.-ft. of torque
AED has a winner and it shows!
